Harry Reid

Yesterday Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced his support for the Iran nuclear deal. When the deal was originally announced in July he "pledged a thoughtful review process, but he did not announce his full support until yesterday. So far he is the 27th Democrat to back the Iran deal, the voting ends on September 7th but Reid is hopeful that the other 17 democrats will come around. Reid backs up his decision to support the seal by saying, "One of the most important national security challenges of our generation is stopping Iran from getting nuclear power, a goal that is critical to the national security of the United States, the State of Israel, and the world." To say the least Reid is intensely backing this deal and hopes to see it passed.

Donald Trump

Donald Trump calls to end birthright citizenship in the United States. This issue was solved with the 14th Amendment, the policy that automatically grants citizenship to anyone born on U.S. soil. This call has started a separation between the presidential candidates, some are trying to distance themselves from Trump and his ideas while others are agreeing and getting on board with his ideas. Some believe that citizenship should only be granted to those who are in the U.S. legally. Trump is quoted with saying, We have to start a process, where we take back our country." This indicates that he feels as though the immigrants being granted citizenship are taking over our country in a bad way and must be stopped.

Anti Death Penalty Sign

The state of Connecticut recently came out saying that the death penalty is unconstitutional and has decided to overturn the death penalty completely. There were 11 men currently on death row in Connecticut that are now not facing execution. Instead of the death penalty that have substituted a life in prison with absolutely no hope of getting out. In 2012 Connecticut had already passed a law of no death penalty for future crimes, however now they have decided to let the 11 that were currently on death row off of it. They believe that it is no use executing the prisoners when this is not what they morally believe in.

Marco Rubio Anti Abortion

Marco Rubio
Marco Rubio presidential candidate recently came out to say that we was anti abortion. If elected he vows to end abortions completely this including rape, endangerment to the mother, and incest. He is quoted with saying, "I am pro life. Its as simple as that". Rubio claims to be pro-life yet he supports the death penalty and torture. His reasoning for his decision is that the bible tells him that life is sacred, but if life was sacred then wouldn't he also be anti death penalty? All other presidential candidates claim to be pro life and anti abortion except in specific circumstances, only Rubio and Walker want to complexly eliminate abortion. The public is angry about this because it is using the term pro life in an incorrect form. Pro life is much for than anti abortion and anti death penalty, it is supporting social security, parental leave, protecting the environment, and so much more.

Russian Missile Sale to Iran gets Obama's Attention

S-300

Russia is selling Iran four of their S-300 missiles that can bring down any U.S. or Israeli aircraft. This transaction is not violating the United Nations sanctions or the nuclear deal however the Obama administration intensely frowns upon it. Iran plans to sign for these missiles as early as next week. Russia, United States, and more all recently came together for the Iran nuclear agreement, this agreement keeps the embargo in place for five more years. There is not much we can do since it is not technically breaking any treaties, the only thing we can do is say how much it upsets us and how much we disagree with it. I'm guessing that their hope for voicing their disagreement is to hopefully show Iran and Russia how irritated it makes us and that we are not happy.
